May Favourites

I know, I know, we're almost half way through June, but I was meant to get this post written and published whilst I was in Valencia, but didn't, so I'm just going to go ahead and publish it now. May was a pretty hectic month for me, and to be honest I couldn't wait for June to arrive. I did have a handful of favourite things throughout the month though, so here they are...

The Square Root of Summer by Harriet Reuter Hapgood

There were two books out of those I read in June that really stood out. The first was The Square Root of Summer by Harriet Reuter Hapgood. I wrote a full review of this here, but it's a Young Adult book about 17 year old Gottie who starts losing time. She's hurtled through wormholes to moments in her past and starts experiences strange blips. It made me laugh, it made me cry and it was just such a wonderful YA book that I loved to read.

Always With Love by Giovanna Fletcher

The second on my list was Always With Love by Giovanna Fletcher. Her first novel Billy and Me is up there in my favourites, so I loved the fact that she was revisiting Sophie and Billy in her latest novel. I actually got a copy of the book early from the lovely team at Penguin, as it technically wasn't out til the 2nd June. The book was perfect, and didn't in any way spoil my love for the two characters from the first book. I actually wrote a full review of it here, so be sure to take a look!

Me Before You

I could watch this movie over and over again. It was so good I actually saw it twice before it was released. If you didn't know, Me Before You is in my top five favourite books, and I was so excited for the movie to come out but also so so nervous. Jojo Moyes, the author, reassured us at the After You Q&A evening that it was as true to the book as it could have been, and it really was. In all honesty it was the best they could have done for a film version of the book, and I cannot wait to watch it again and again and again. I wrote a spoiler-free review here, when I saw it the first time round, but I have to admit it was even better second time round! Also, can we just appreciate my lonely photobooth picture from the media preview I went to, and these AMAZING bumblebee tights that I got - let me know if you want me to do a OOTD post wearing them!

New Look Hair Clips & Primark Hair Bows

Now that my hair is a lot shorter, I can't really tie it up. I've loved the clips that New Look do for quite a while, and already had three black and white ones, but couldn't resists picking up these gorgeous coral/powder blue ones that look lovely and summery! They're a great size for shorter and longer hair, and hold my hair so well! I also loved these little bow clips that I found in Primark, and have been playing around with wearing those in my hair too!

L'Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay Shampoo & Conditioner

I picked this range up after hearing so many people rave about it, and I am honestly so glad I did. I initially went for the normal shampoo, but as my scalp is fairly dry (but my hair gets greasy fast) I though the anti-dandruff one would be better suited. The shampoo and conditioner works wonders - my hair definitely doesn't get greasy as quickly, and my ends are lovely and soft/hydrated. I've recently also picked up the masque, and it's also a winner in my eyes!

Alice In Wonderland Tsum Tsums - Alice & White Rabbit

If you saw my post on my Tsum Tsum collection, you'll know how much I love them! I added three more to my collection this month, from the Alice In Wonderland range, and I absolutely love these three. Alice & the White Rabbit are just ridiculously adorable, and I think the White Rabbit is actually in my top favourites in my collection!

Aside from that, I also had a great weekend in Cambridge for my cousin's hen do, and can't wait to possibly head back there for a day trip in August with Kelsey! I hope you're having a lovely June so far, and can't wait to get back to properly blogging after my week off!

Sophie x
