Glossybox - May 2016

If you read my Glossybox vs Birchbox post last night, you'll know that I really really liked my first ever Glossybox. I actually had to get another one, as I cancelled my subscription after the cut-off point for the following month, but I'm actually now regretting cancelling at all, and will be re-subscribing in June!

I'd tried out the Birchbox before, but was never completely satisfied to stay subscribed month after month, but after getting my first Glossybox and then this one too, I really think I might stay subscribed for at least another few months.

Firstly, can we just talk about how gorgeous this month's box is? The only downfall I had with my first Glossybox was knowing the boxes were the same each month, and then to my surprise this month's was a limited edition cityscape! There were 4 to get, and I got New York which I absolutely love! Anyway, enough about the gorgeous box - here's what I got inside:

Zero Crease Hair Tie by Hairon

I really like the look of these, but currently my new shorter hair is too short to tie up, annoyingly. I am going to let it grow a little, and it's almost at ponytail length, so I'll be really excited to give these a go. I've used the elastic no-kink hair ties, and although they're great they never stayed in my hair too well, so I've got better hopes for these Hairon ones. This is a full-size product, and you get three hair ties in the box, which retail at £3.99.

Velvet Lippie in Toasted by Absolute New York

Now I have to admit, I'm really not too keen on the colour of this one, but believe there were other colours in other boxes and I lucked out. I usually go for a pink or red on my lips, so am a little nervous about actually trying this on, but it may look alright! The product itself is really nice - I've swatched it on my hand and it smells gorgeous, has a lovely texture and dries matte - so it's really just a shame that it's not a typical me colour. This is another full size product which retails at £4.93.

Protective Dry Oil SPF 15 by Hawaiian Tropic

I've actually used Hawaiian Tropic suncream before, and have to admit it smells gorgeous. I haven't used a dry oil though, so I'm excited to try this. I'm off to Valencia in a few weeks, so this is definitely going in my case! This 100ml size is currently on offer for £2.99 instead of £5.99 on their website, which is an absolute bargain, and they do it at both SPF 15 and SPF 8 if you don't burn as easy as I do!

Enhancing Plump & Firm Moisturiser by Bee Good

This is definitely one product I'm excited to try, as I love a good moisturiser. Bee Good are a British brand of skincare products, and this is part of their Youth Enhancing range. Now at twenty-three I wouldn't exactly say my skin is ageing, but I do have fine lines on my forehead from my skin being dehydrated. I love the smell of this, and it's meant to be an intensive moisturiser so I'm hoping it really helps. This is the 15ml travel size which retails at £9, with the full 50ml retailing at £23.50

Revlon Superlength Mascara

Now I believe if I was a fully subscribed member of Glossybox and hadn't cancelled my subscription I would have gotten a choice out of five Revlon Mascaras, but I'm actually happy with the one I got! I've got quite short lashes, so always go for lengthening/curling mascaras so am excited to try this. The other options would have been Volume, Definition, All-In-One or Volume & Length. This is yet another full size product that retails at £9.99!

From the looks of things, every product inside my box this month is a full size instead of a sample. If I'd have bought everything it would have come to £33.90, so getting it for £10 was great! I also got a miniature bag of Propercorn's Lightly Salted popcorn - yum!

Overall I think the value of Glossybox is brilliant, and it's a great way of getting new products to try without completely splurging on full size items. You can never have too many beauty products, right?
