Carrie's Book Club - January 2016

If you're not familiar with Carrie Hope Fletcher then you should be. Carrie is currently staring as Eponine in Les Mis, has a non-fiction book out and is writing her debut novel, as well as being an honorary big sister on the internet. She also runs Carrie's Book Club, a monthly subscription box themed around a book or series of books.

I've wanted to order one of Carrie's boxes since they started back in September 2014, but I never got round to it/found a box I connected with until I saw her tweet a week or so ago about January's box. January's box has the theme of Harry Potter, and with it also being my birthday month I thought I'd treat myself. My box arrived a few days ago and I love it.

When I opened the box I spotted the letter that Carrie had written and read this first. There was also this month's bookmark which is different every month. I really loved the bookmark because it's a steel one, so you know it'll really last. I then took a look at all the goodies inside.

In this month's box there were some  Butterbeer inspired butterscotch flavoured boiled sweets (which I ate before taking a picture, ooops!) as well as a lollypop that's meant to change your tongue a different colour. There was also a blackcurrent and acai berry tea, which I am super excited about. I think Carrie loves tea almost as much as I do, so it wasn't a surprise that it was in there. There was also a blue bath bomb that SMELLS INCREDIBLE. I think I've smelt it every time I've walked past the box, and I'm super excited to use it.
There was also this Glo-Wax candle, which glows different colours when you light it. It doesn't seem to have much of a scent but I thought it looked super cool in the video Carrie tweeted of it. Unfortunately, when I lit mine it didn't start glowing at all (as you can see in the picture of it below). I've emailed the team that send the boxes out, so I'll hopefully hear something from them this week.

Other than the faulty candle, I'm pretty happy with the box. It just seemed to be full of all the things I love and would buy usually, so it was worth buying. Let me know if you've got one of Carrie's boxes before, and if so which one!
