Dress, tights and boots - all ASDA*

Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la!

So Christmas is around the corner (it's four weeks on Friday!!), and my December is already filling up with festive events with both work and friends. When the lovely team at George at Asda got in touch, to ask if I'd want to share some of my Christmas party tips, I couldn't say no! They also sent me a few beautiful items to get me through, and I absolutely adore them all.

When looking at the party dresses on the , there were a few that I loved, but I stuck to my safe style and went for this gorgeous gold lace skater dress. It's absolutely stunning, and it feels and looks so well made.

Tip #1 - Anything metalic or sparkly will instantly make you look festive and ready to party. George have a whole bunch of dresses to fit the bill!

I also picked a pair of boots to go with the dress. If you're short like me, or fancy wearing a heel, a heeled boot is perfect for winter. They keep your feet warm (and you can wear extra thick socks if needed) and are a great transition for the winter. I fell in love with this pair I picked as soon as they arrived - I think it's the gold accent on the heel.

Tip #2 - Go for a pair of ankle boots over your typical heels, as they'll give you that extra layer of warmth. I even put a pair of ankle socks on over my tights, as the boots hid them!

When it comes to bags, something small that can contain the essentials is perfect. A sparkly bag can make any outfit look more festive, and this one I picked is perfect. It's a great size, and I could fit everything I needed in it. It's also over-the-shoulder rather than a clutch, so you can dance the night away without having to put it down.

Tip #3 - Add an extra bit of sparkle with accessories - this can be a glittery bag or a statement necklace.

For my makeup, I went for a simple metallic eye using Fleur De Force's Eyeshadow Quad in Lunar Rose. I also stuck on my usual winged liner, and then used New Look's Matte Liquid Lipstick in Dark Red.

Tip #4 - For me, red or dark lips are an easy way to dress up any make-up look. My eyes were fairly simple, and the lips just completed the look.

Just make sure you enjoy yourself, eat lots of festive food and drink lots of scrummy cocktails! Have you got any tips to add?
