#SophAcrossThePond - Saving Thyme in Burlington, Ontario

I'm back from a completely jam-packed two weeks in North America, full of friends, fun and food, and I can't wait to blog about it. My first stop was Ontario to visit the lovely Kelsey, and the first thing she did was take me to this cute little patisserie called Saving Thyme

We went for lunch, and ordered the small tea platter, which was $16 (about £8), so super super reasonable! I wasn't sure what to expect, but when it came to our table there was so much food and we were stuffed by the end of it. To share, there was a chicken salad sandwich, two cherry scones with fresh cream and jam, two macarons, some fruit and then a chocolate peanut butter cake (which Kelsey ate all of, as I don't like peanut butter!) It was all SO tasty, and we had a peaches & cream tea to go with it, which was delicious.

I loved it there so much, that we returned on my last day in Canada with Kelsey's bestie Emily. We shared the small tea platter again, as Kelsey and I had a big breakfast quite soon before, and again got a peaches & cream tea to share. This time the platter had half a chicken salad sandwich and half a salmon one, and then a cinnamon roll, a scone with jam & cream and two macarons. Again, all the food (well, the bits I ate this time as I don't like salmon or cinnamon) was so tasty, and I'd be back there daily if I lived nearby!

If you're visiting the area, or live close, then make sure you stop by as it's the cutest little place and the food is all freshly cooked daily. Just looking at the pictures is making me want to go back!
