February Favourites

I can’t believe we’re in March already. 2015 is flying by, and there have been so many great moments and things I've loved already. Here are a few of my favourite things of February.

I could spend hours in Lush, so whenever I have time before my train home after work, it’s the one place I go into. At the start of February I went in looking for something for my hands. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted, but they had been suffering from the cold weather, and I had a couple of irritated patches that just wouldn’t go away. After looking at the hand creams, the sales advisor told me about this product and I fell in love. It looks a little odd, but you basically break a little off, mix it with a little water in your hands to create a paste and just leave it on for a few minutes. I use it every few days, and have only got through about a third of the block I bought. It leaves my hands feeling pampered and I love it. I’ll definitely be picking up some more when I run out.

Now I’d seen everyone reviewing Roller Lash when it first came out, and wasn’t too sure what I’d make of it, but when Debenhams VIP Beauty Club sent me one early, I was super excited to try it. I’ve struggled to find a mascara that works well with my lashes and have never found one that I stick to once it runs out. I have quite short, straight lashes, and they don’t stay curled even if I use a curler, so I was definitely intrigued to try Roller Lash out. I’m not sure if I’ve necessarily found the mascara I’ll stick with, but if I apply it correctly it does make my lashes curl, and look lengthy and full of volume. I have found at times where I’ve rushed putting it on they can appear a little spidery, but other than that I really do love it.

If you saw my post about the #NYLdnMeet back in January, you’ll have seen that I won a Lee Stafford hair curler, brush and Argan Oil Nourishing Miracle Oil in the raffle. We also got the Lee Stafford Ultra Hydration Lotion in the goodybag, and I’ve been absolutely loving the two products the past month. I’ve previously skipped adding product to my hair after it’s been washed, but after trying these two out I don’t think I’ll ever look back. The products smell amazing, and leave my hair feeling soft, smooth and looking lovely and shiny. I tend to use the hydration lotion before drying my hair, and add the oil once I’ve styled it just to tame any frizz. They’re both great products, and will definitely be picked up again once they run out.

Back in my July favourites I talked about Me Before You, which was the first book I read by Jojo Moyes. I absolutely loved it, and picked up another two of her books straight after, but never got round to reading them. I started The Girl You Left Behind in mid-February, and just couldn’t put it down. I was completely drawn in by the story of Sophie, and loved that the book was split into the two halves with Sophie’s life in German occupied France in 1916, and then the life of Liv set in the present day, four years after her husband passed away. The book had me sobbing from the start, which isn’t so great for a commute, but it was such a great storyline, and Moyes’ writing was faultless once again.

WESC Cymbal Headphones in Hibiscus
As I now have a 40 minute commute to and from work, I decided that one of the things I’d invest in would be a pair of over-ear headphones. When I spotted the WESC ones online, I knew they’d be the ones to get, and then had to decided between the Hibiscus ones, or the Smokey Grey. I picked the pink ones, and have used them daily since I got them. I love that they fold up, the lead is removable and that they’re not too large. They fit easily in my bag, have great sound and I don’t know what I’d do without having them.

    1. I find that sometimes it doesn't go on as well, but when I take the time it looks great. I love that people could sample it by getting Elle magazine though! x
