Blogmas | Rochester's Dickens Festival

I'm not sure how many of you know this, but I was actually at university from 2011 to June this year down in Rochester in Kent. Rochester was the home of Charles Dickens for a fair few years of his life, and so twice a year they play host to the Dickens Festival. I went all three years that I was at university, and as my mum had never been this year she decided she wanted to go, and so on Saturday we took a trip there. It was great going back to Rochester for the first time since June, although it was weird as it holds so many memories. The Dickens Festival was lovely and some of my Mum's side of the family that live in Kent decided to go too, so it was great to see them. It was rather cold, so I was wrapped up with a big thick coat and woolly hat, but with all the walking around it wasn't too bad. Here are some photos from the parade on the day! Sorry they're not completely in focus - they were walking rather fast and my camera isn't very good at taking pictures quickly.

It was a great day out, and I am glad I didn't miss out on it this year, despite no longer living in the area. Have any of you ever been to the festival? Let me know!
