August Favourites

I was meant to get this favourites post up last Monday, before I jetted off to Mallorca for a week, but never got round to it, sorry! So as we're already half way through September, this is long overdue. Hopefully I'll manage to get my September favourites blogged about on time!

Sleek Face Form Contour & Blush Palette - £9.99

I've really gotten into beauty and make-up a lot more over the past month or so, and I decided I wanted to try out contouring. I looked around a lot at recommendations of contour palettes, and the outcome was quite often the Sleek palettes, so I decided to give it a go. I absolutely love this palette. I got mine off of Amazon, but they are also stocked in Superdrug and Boots stores, and online. I was torn between just the Contour Kit, and the Face Form Palette which includes a blush, but decided to go for the second. It's a great palette, with the contour colour, the highlighter and a blush. I picked the Light 373 palette, but it also comes in Fair, Medium and Dark. The products have such a silky feel to them, and I love this palette so much! It's my first Sleek product that I own, so if anyone has any other recommendation please let me know!

Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow in On and on Bronze - £4.99

I picked this eyeshadow up after seeing it featured in one of Zoella's videos, and it has since become one of the staple products in my make-up bag. I wanted an eyeshadow that I could wear daily, just to give my eyelid a bit of colour. It's a cream eyeshadow, so also creates a great base for other shadows, but creates a great shimmery, but neutral colour for day to day use. The formula is great, it stays on all day and you only need the tiniest amount, so at only £4.99 it's great value. There are a wide range of other colours in the Color Tattoo range, so if you're not a fan of bronze, there should be a colour for you.

Village Candle - Frozen Margarita

I've been a fan of the Yankee candle votives for a while now, and usually get them from my local Hallmark store, but last time I went I spotted their range of Village Candles instead, so decided to try them out. My local Hallmark store is an outlet, so the votives were around £1.25 each, however I've seen them sold for around £1.85 online. The Frozen Margarita scent has to be my favourite out of those I got to smell - it's such a refreshing scent. I absolutely love fruity candles, and this scent just screamed summer. I'm looking forward to giving some of their other scents a go, especially as we're now heading into the cooler months. What are your favourite Autumn candle scents?

Lush's Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb - £1.95

Now I know this is one of Lush's bath bombs for kids, but I really have been loving it this month. I've started treating myself to a lovely Lush bath more often (if you're following me on instagram you'll have seen this) and as I was having trouble with my sleeping patterns over the past few months, when I spotted the Ickle Baby Bot in Lush I knew I had to give it a go. It turns your bath the loveliest shade of blue and is made up of a combination of Lavender, Chamomile and Sandalwood oils for the ultimate calming and soothing bath. I do love a lot of the other Lush bath bombs, but this definitely has to be my favourite this month, as it really helped me to relax and get to sleep.

Pictures of Lily by Paige Toon

I read a few of Paige Toon's books a couple of years back, and then read Thirteen Weddings in July and was hooked. I decided to get Pictures of Lily on my Kobo, as someone I know said it was a good one to read next, and I absolutely loved it. I completely connected with Lily from the start, as you hear about her moving from the UK to Australia, and having moved to new areas a few times in the last 4 years (although nowhere near as big as moving half way across the world) I completely understood how hard it was for her at the beginning. The story is beautifully written, and I love that Paige Toon links characters between her books. If you fancy a romantic story that will completely make your heart melt, then this is one for you!
